COVID-19 Update

27th July 2020

With 7 weeks now complete, we continue to be overwhelmed at the support from our patients.

Hygienist services are now available every weekday and Saturday mornings will be re-introduced over the next month.

Jen is doing her very best to make her way through our booking list but it is proving difficult to get through as quickly as she would like.

Please do give us a call to get your appointments booked in if you have not heard from us yet.

Priority will be given to patients on our Membership Plan to enable them to get back on track.

The Boathouse Dental Surgery team continue to work hard to ensure that your visit to the practice will be a pleasant, effective, and most importantly safe. Whilst our procedures and infection control protocols already ensured safe delivery of dental care, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, these have had to be amended in line with the latest guidance, so you will see some changes in all areas of our practice. These changes have been made to protect our patients and our team.

Please continue to visit our website, Facebook and Twitter for updates.

Once again, we thank you for your understanding, patience and support.

Please note: Masks/face coverings will be mandatory throughout the practice from Monday 27th July 2020

3rd July 2020

With 4 weeks re-open under our belts, we are overwhelmed at the support from our patients.

Hygienist services will resume on Monday 6th July 2020 with limited appointments.

We will honour appointments already in the diary, although the times may need to be altered slightly, then we will contact patients who had appointments scheduled during lockdown.

Priority will be given to patients on our Membership Plan to enable them to get back on track.

We respectfully ask that you do not call to make a new hygienist appointment for the next 2 weeks while Jen works through the backlog.

6th June 2020

This is to inform you of the steps that have been put into place to ensure a safe return for both patients and staff and also to notify you with regards to some of the changes that may be experienced when you arrive for your appointment.

Before arrival at the practice for your appointment
• Please brush your teeth before leaving home
• Please use the toilet before you leave
• Advise to wash your hands for 20 seconds just before you leave home
• With the exception of children and patients with carers, please try to avoid bringing family members with you unless absolutely necessary and only the patient will be taken into the surgery

On arrival at the practice
• The front door will remain locked so please ring the doorbell
• A member of the team will let you in
• Your temperature will be taken with a non contact device
• Please use the hand sanitiser provided
• You may be taken straight into the surgery, if not, please take a seat as directed
• If possible, avoid using our toilet facilities
• A distance of 2 metres must be observed if another patient is present in the practice
• Please be understanding that our added efforts to maintain your safety in this new environment may mean your visit takes slightly longer than usual

To ensure a safe environment the following has been put into place
• Installing a perspex panel at the reception desk
• Removed newspapers, magazines, leaflets and children’s toys in the waiting room as these items are difficult to clean and disinfect
• Decontamination of communal areas prior to practice opening, at lunchtime and at the end of the day
• Managed appointments to allow for social distancing between patients
• Minimised staff interaction and adherence to social distancing as far as is possible
• Equipped our dental staff with additional PPE when in the surgery
• Payment should be made by card as much as possible and minimise the use of cash. We no longer accept cheques

We thank you once again for your patience and understanding in this difficult time and look forward to seeing you again soon.
